Join a Family-Owned Residential Setting Where You’re Truly Valued
We are recruiting on behalf of a warm, independently operated residential care service providing high-quality care for adults both under and over 65.
This well-established home supports up to 36 residents and offers permanent residential care, respite care and day care within a welcoming, homely environment. With a smaller resident group, the focus is always on delivering genuinely person-centred care where every individual is known, respected and valued.
We are now seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to work a mixture of day and night shifts as part of a supportive and stable team.
About the Service
Registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the home prides itself on maintaining high standards of dignity, independence and wellbeing.
The setting offers:
- Comfortable bedrooms, including ground-floor rooms with private patios
- Peaceful garden spaces
- A varied, person-centred activities programme
- Permanent, respite and day care services
- A 5-Star Food Hygiene Rating, demonstrating excellent standards of cleanliness and food safety
The culture is professional, friendly and family-orientated, with a leadership team that is visible and approachable.
Why This Role Stands Out
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will:
- Act as the senior member of staff on duty across day and night shifts
- Lead and support care staff with confidence and compassion
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred residential care
- Provide reassurance and clinical oversight during night shifts
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families
- Promote dignity, choice and independence at all times
With a smaller home environment, you’ll be able to focus on relationship-led care rather than task-based routines.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide the care team on shift
- Deliver safe, compassionate care tailored to individual needs
- Administer medication (training provided if required)
- Maintain accurate and compliant care documentation
- Monitor wellbeing and escalate concerns appropriately
- Ensure residents’ comfort and safety, particularly during night shifts
- Support compliance with CQC standards
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a senior care role
- Medication training (desirable but not essential)
- Confidence working both independently (nights) and as part of a team
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A calm, professional and positive approach
- A genuine passion for supporting older people
What’s on Offer
- £13.50 per hour
- Paid breaks
- 35-hour full-time contract
- Mixture of day and night shifts
- Free on-site parking
- Stable, family-run working environment
- Supportive and experienced management team
- The opportunity to make a meaningful impact every shift
