Are you an experienced Senior Care Assistant looking for a rewarding leadership role in a small, supportive, and person-centred home in the North Devon area?

We are recruiting for a privately owned, small adult residential care home set in a peaceful coastal location in North Devon. The service provides specialist residential care for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and complex care needs — particularly individuals who may have experienced challenges in previous placements.

This is a calm, structured, and nurturing environment where residents are supported to feel safe, valued, and understood.

Why Join This Service?

In this senior role, you will:

  • Lead and support care staff during your shift
  • Help maintain a stable, structured, and therapeutic environment
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and families
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity and independence
  • Work closely with supportive, hands-on management
  • Be part of a small, committed team where your leadership truly makes a difference

About the Home

The service offers:

  • 12-bed adult residential care in a spacious, private setting
  • Support for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and complex needs
  • A focus on individuals who may have struggled in previous placements
  • A safe environment (no individuals who pose physical risk to others)
  • A peaceful location with access to the local community
  • A warm, homely atmosphere with animals on site

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide and oversee high-quality, person-centred care
  • Lead, mentor, and support care staff on shift
  • Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks
  • Maintain accurate care documentation and clear handovers
  • Promote structured routines and positive support strategies
  • Encourage meaningful activities and community engagement
  • Ensure a safe, consistent, and respectful living environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in residential or specialist care
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care required; Level 3 preferred
  • Experience supporting adults with complex needs
  • Proven ability to lead and guide a small care team
  • Calm, resilient, and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Genuine passion for delivering high-quality care

What You’ll Receive

  • £15.50 per hour
  • Paid breaks
  • Flexible daytime shift patterns
  • Stable, long-term role in a small family-owned setting
  • Supportive and visible management
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day

If you are a confident and experienced Senior Care Assistant seeking a leadership role within a small, specialist residential service in North Devon, we would love to hear from you.
