A Home Where You Can Make a Real Difference

Are you an experienced and compassionate Home Manager looking for your next opportunity?

Perhaps you’re looking for a home where you can build genuine relationships with residents, support and develop an established team, and have the freedom to make a positive difference to the service you lead.

We are currently recruiting for a Home Manager in Herne Bay to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of a warm, welcoming and well-established residential care home.

This is an opportunity to join a family-run service with a strong reputation for providing high-quality, person-centred care.

The home has a settled team and a genuinely homely atmosphere, with a clear focus on ensuring residents feel safe, respected, valued and, most importantly, at home.

About the Home

The home provides residential care for older people in a comfortable and welcoming environment, with residents’ individual needs, preferences and quality of life at the heart of the service.

This is not simply a home focused on providing care. The team takes the time to get to know each resident as an individual — understanding their life story, interests, routines and the things that matter most to them.

Residents are supported to maintain their independence wherever possible, while having the reassurance and care they need available to them.

The home offers:

  • Comfortable and welcoming accommodation
  • Attractive communal lounges and dining areas
  • Pleasant outdoor spaces and gardens
  • A friendly and supportive atmosphere
  • Residential and respite care
  • A strong focus on dignity, independence and wellbeing
  • An established and experienced staff team
  • A warm environment where residents can feel genuinely at home

The Ethos

The philosophy of the home is simple: good care starts with knowing the person.

The team understands that every resident is different, with their own personality, history, preferences and aspirations.

As Home Manager, you will play an important role in maintaining this approach and ensuring that high standards of care are delivered alongside genuine warmth, kindness and compassion.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build on the home’s existing strengths while bringing their own leadership style, ideas and experience to the service.

The Role

As Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the operational leadership and day-to-day management of the home.

You will lead an established team, ensuring that residents receive consistently high-quality care while maintaining a positive, supportive and well-organised working environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating and developing the care team
  • Creating and maintaining a positive, resident-focused culture
  • Ensuring consistently high standards of person-centred care
  • Maintaining full compliance with CQC and regulatory requirements
  • Overseeing care planning, audits and quality assurance
  • Monitoring and maintaining high standards across the service
  • Managing recruitment, staffing and rotas
  • Supporting and developing staff through effective leadership
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with residents and their families
  • Working closely with healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders
  • Supporting occupancy and maintaining the home’s strong local reputation
  • Ensuring the home remains a safe, welcoming and positive place to live and work

About You

We are looking for an experienced care professional who combines strong leadership with genuine compassion.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Registered Home Manager
  • Experience within a residential elderly care setting
  • A strong understanding of CQC regulations and compliance
  • A confident, approachable and supportive leadership style
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to motivate, lead and develop a team
  • Experience managing staffing, rotas and day-to-day operations
  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of occupancy
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care

Most importantly, you will be someone who understands that a successful care home is about people first.

You will care about the experience of residents, their families and the team around you, and you will take pride in creating an environment where people feel valued and supported.

What’s on Offer?

  • £45,000 – £50,000 per annum DOE
  • The opportunity to lead a well-established residential care home
  • An experienced and established staff team
  • Supportive family-run ownership
  • A genuinely homely and resident-focused environment
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • The opportunity to bring your own ideas and leadership approach
  • A role where you can build strong relationships with residents, families and staff
  • The chance to make a genuine, long-term impact on the home and the people who live there
