We are recruiting on behalf of a luxury residential setting in Tavistock, set within the stunning Tamar Valley countryside.

Surrounded by spacious, park-like grounds and supported by a dedicated professional team, the home provides a warm, welcoming environment focused on dignity, comfort, and exceptional standards of care.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Home Manager to work in a fully supernumerary role, with excellent hours and a focus on supporting the Home Manager and care team.

🌟 Role Overview

As Deputy Home Manager, you will work alongside the Home Manager to support the overall leadership and day-to-day running of the service. You will ensure the highest standards of care, compliance, and team performance are consistently delivered.

This is a fully supernumerary role, meaning you are not counted in the staffing numbers, allowing you to focus on leadership, quality, and support rather than direct shift work.

  • Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day management of the service
    • Ensure high standards of care in line with regulatory requirements
    • Lead, motivate, and support the care team
    • Assist with staff supervision, training, and development
    • Support care planning and quality assurance processes
    • Maintain compliance with CQC standards and health & safety regulations
    • Deputise in the Home Manager’s absence

✅ Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior in a residential setting
    • Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks
    • Leadership and team management experience
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills
    • NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
    • Passionate about delivering outstanding, person-centred care

🌿 The Environment

The residence offers a blend of traditional charm and modern accommodation, with beautifully maintained grounds and countryside views. Residents enjoy a vibrant activities programme, freshly prepared meals, and a true home-from-home atmosphere.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, supportive team with excellent hours, where you can genuinely make a difference to residents’ lives and staff development.
