Care Practitioner

Residential Complex Needs Service – Bexhill-on-Sea
Full-Time / Part-Time / Flexible Shifts

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and resilient Care Practitioner to join our residential care service in Bexhill-on-Sea, supporting adults with complex needs including mental health conditions, alcohol and drug addiction, dual diagnosis, behavioural challenges and social exclusion.

This role involves supporting residents within a structured residential environment focused on safety, recovery, dignity and independence. Experience within complex care, mental health, homelessness, addiction services or supported living would be beneficial.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support and care to residents in line with care plans and risk assessments.
  • Support residents with personal care, medication, meals, appointments and daily living skills where required.
  • Build positive professional relationships whilst maintaining clear boundaries.
  • Support residents experiencing emotional distress, relapse, behavioural challenges or crisis situations using calm and professional approaches.
  • Observe, monitor and report concerns relating to wellbeing, safeguarding, risk or deterioration.
  • Complete daily records, incident reports and handovers accurately and professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with managers, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Promote a safe, clean and respectful living environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision and training.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in health and social care or a related setting.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Flexible approach to shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Basic IT and written communication skills.

Desirable

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience supporting individuals with addiction, mental health conditions or dual diagnosis.
  • Medication administration training.
  • De-escalation or behavioural support training.
