Care Home Administrator – Part Time– Central Exeter – AV2036

30 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 3:00pm

Location: Exeter, Devon

Pay: £15.00 per hour

About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Care Home Administrator to join a well-established 40-bedded care home located in the centre of Exeter.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, professional and approachable administrator with previous administration experience within a care home or the wider care sector.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the home. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, supporting staff and residents, handling correspondence and assisting with the administrative processes required to maintain a well-organised and compliant care environment.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the administrative requirements within a care setting and be confident handling confidential information, resident records, staff documentation and general office responsibilities.

This is a 30-hour-per-week position, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm, making it an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a rewarding part-time role with consistent daytime hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient day-to-day administrative support to the care home
  • Work closely with the Home Manager and wider management team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records and documentation
  • Assist with staff administration, including personnel files and documentation
  • Support recruitment and onboarding administration where required
  • Maintain confidential records in line with GDPR and data protection requirements
  • Assist with invoicing, purchase orders and general financial administration
  • Manage emails, correspondence and telephone enquiries
  • Assist with audits, inspections and compliance documentation
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems
  • Support the home with general office administration
  • Liaise professionally with residents, relatives, staff and external professionals
  • Ensure administrative processes are completed accurately and within required timescales

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Previous administration experience within a care home or the wider care sector
  • Good understanding of care home administration and associated processes
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Professional, friendly and approachable manner
  • A genuine interest in supporting the smooth running of a care environment
