Avon Search is currently recruiting on behalf of a luxury, family-run residential care home located in the picturesque coastal village of Ferring, West Sussex.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Care Home Chef to join the kitchen team. You will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious and appetising meals for residents, taking into account individual dietary requirements, preferences and nutritional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and reliable Chef who takes pride in their work and enjoys making a genuine difference to residents through high-quality, freshly prepared food.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious, home-cooked meals for up to 37 residents.
• Cater for individual dietary requirements, allergies and texture-modified meals where required.
• Prepare varied and balanced menus that reflect residents’ preferences.
• Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate food supplies and assist with ordering provisions.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety and HACCP procedures.
• Work closely with the care team to understand residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Help create an enjoyable and positive dining experience for residents.

About You

• Previous experience as a Chef.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene regulations and safe food preparation.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above is desirable.
• Experience preparing meals within a care or healthcare setting is advantageous.
• Well organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Passionate about producing high-quality, nutritious meals.
• Caring, friendly and committed to supporting residents’ wellbeing.
