Hours: 40 hours per week – 7:00am to 5:00pm, 4 shifts per week

Our client is looking for an experienced Head Chef to manage and lead the catering operation within their fantastic Care Home in Cardiff.

The home provides Nursing, Nursing Dementia, Enablement and Residential Care and Support for 54 residents and is committed to delivering a high standard of care in a warm and welcoming environment.

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for an experienced chef looking for a better work-life balance, offering no evening work, no split shifts and a great 4-day working pattern.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen and for ensuring residents receive fresh, nutritious and appetising meals every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing delicious, high-quality home-cooked food
• Ensuring fresh and nutritious meals are served consistently
• Maintaining excellent standards of food preparation and presentation
• Creating varied menus to meet residents’ individual dietary requirements and preferences
• Leading and managing the kitchen team effectively
• Managing the kitchen efficiently while maintaining high standards
• Building strong relationships with residents, colleagues and the wider care team
• Ensuring food hygiene and Health & Safety standards are maintained
