Looking for a Role Where You’re Truly Valued?
Imagine working in a beautiful country house setting, surrounded by gardens, where quality care isn’t just a service — it’s a shared mindset.
We are recruiting for a Senior Healthcare Assistant (Days) to join an exceptional, stand-alone nursing and residential care home on the outskirts of Winchester, Hampshire. With the relaxed ambience of a country house hotel and the close-knit feel that only an independent home can offer, this is a service where your voice is heard and your contribution genuinely matters.
Here, quality care isn’t just what the team does — it’s how they think, act, and lead every day.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is more than a standard senior care role. You will:
- Be a key senior presence in a stand-alone, independently operated home
- Work closely with management who are visible and approachable
- Lead and support care staff with confidence and compassion
- Deliver truly person-centred care in a calm, well-resourced environment
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families
Without the structure of a large corporate group, decisions are made locally, communication is open, and good ideas are welcomed.
About the Home
This purpose-built care home provides both residential and nursing care for older people in a setting designed for comfort, dignity and wellbeing.
Residents enjoy:
- Spacious en-suite bedrooms (with walk-in showers in selected rooms)
- Freshly prepared meals using quality ingredients
- A varied activities programme including guest speakers, musicians, quizzes and PAT dog visits
- On-site laundry service 7 days a week
- Hair salon, quiet lounge, small library and bright conservatory
The culture is professional, caring and family-orientated — with a team known for consistently going above and beyond for residents and one another.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide the care team during day shifts
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care
- Administer medication (training provided if required)
- Maintain accurate care documentation
- Ensure residents’ safety, comfort and wellbeing
- Provide emotional support and reassurance
- Act as the senior member of staff on duty
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a senior care role
- Medication training (desirable)
- Confident leadership skills
- A calm, positive and professional approach
- A genuine passion for supporting older people
What You’ll Receive
- £13.15 – £14.30 per hour
- Paid breaks
- 5-hour full-time contract (Days)
- Free on-site parking
- Supportive, stable and close-knit working environment
- Beautiful country house surroundings
- The opportunity to make a real impact every single shift
If you’re a Senior Healthcare Assistant looking to step into a role where you are known, valued and trusted within a stand-alone home — we would love to hear from you.
